The Southern Depot is an ode to Gillman Barracks' military background and its southern location in Singapore. An adaptive re-use of state property by SLA , the buildings formerly housed British armed forces and subsequently Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) units - in particular the 3rd Transport Battalion. This heritage was an inspiration for DIDI Group's artisanal lifestyle concept revolving around Cycles, Craft and Community.

Reflecting the concept, local craft and sustainable elements were adopted across the spaces, and apparent in the facade with recycled palettes and a mural by local artist, yellowmushmellow.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Partnering with resident brands, The Southern Depot hosts an array of bespoke activities for the community, with brands like Weber Singapore and its Grill Academy and private dining, heritage motorcycle brands such as Vespa and Triumph alongside a boutique cafe. ⠀
